STUMP GRINDING
Grind Only
Grind only service includes grinding the stump 8″-10″ below ground level. The excess chips created from the grind are raked into a pile and left for the customer to clean up. Stump grindings can be used for mulch beds and compost. The chips usually have a mixture of wood and dirt. The ratio of mixture depends on the size of the stump. The bigger the stump, the lower amount of dirt.
Grind and Haul
Grind and haul service includes grinding the stump 8″-10″ below ground level. The excess chips are raked up and removed. We leave chips 1″ below ground level to fill the area left empty from the stump. We do not remove the chips in the hole for liability reasons.
Back Filing
Back filling service includes removal of 80% of the chips and back filling with premium topsoil.
Extra Deep Grind
Extra deep grind service is generally used if the customer is replanting in the same area where the stump existed. We grind the stump 18″-24″ below ground level.
Stump Grinding by the Hour
Stump grinding by the hour is for a site with many stumps. This service is a grind-only service and has a minimum charge of 3.5 hours.
The hourly rate will include drive time to site. We recommend an estimate for this service.

- Meaure the widest diameter (width) at ground level
- Measure the width of the hole you would like to be left with when we are finished
- Measure the height above ground level (include mound)
